Hey, I'm Carmine. I've called New Milford, connecticut home for years. I'm a dad, a neighbor, and someone who believes our town works best when we lead with common sense.
We don't need more noise or empty talk β we need action, fairness, and follow-through. That's what I stand for.
Nearly 30,000 residents can see it β itβs time for honesty, fresh ideas, and real solutions. No politics, just common sense.
With an engineerβs mindset, I bring practical, innovative, people-first leadership to Town Hall.
Republican, Democrat, Independent, or none at all β we all deserve better. Itβs time for change that works for everyone.
In 2023, only 6,365 voted β nearly 19,000 stayed home. As Andy Dufresne said, βGet busy living, or get busy dying.β
Letβs get busy living β for New Milford. Write in Carmine Amelio for Mayor.
School should prepare students for life β not just a job.
Weβll support grants, mental health programs, and anti-bullying initiatives to help students thrive in todayβs digital world.
π Education β New Milfordβs Future & Why Families Will Move Here
Schools should prepare students for life β not just a job.
Weβll support grants, mental health resources, and anti-bullying programs to help students thrive in todayβs digital world.
β€οΈ Health, Wellness & Community
A stronger town starts with healthier people.
Weβll expand gyms, cafΓ©s, and community programs focused on physical and mental wellness β so every resident has a place to connect, grow, and feel supported.
π§ Public Safety & Smart Infrastructure
Safety and sustainability go hand in hand.
Weβll invest in EV charging downtown, add a rotary at Routes 202 and 67 to ease traffic, and modernize infrastructure to keep New Milford safe and moving forward.
π The Truth About βGrowthβ
Mayor Bass says everyone wants to live in New Milford β but the numbers donβt lie.
Population:
2007: 28,500
2020: 28,115
Thatβs not growth β thatβs stagnation.
If people truly wanted to live here, theyβd be coming.
Itβs time for leadership that tells the truth β focused on affordability, opportunity, and real results.
No B.S., Just C.S. β Common Sense for New Milford.
πͺ Business β New Milfordβs LifelineCut the red tape, speed up approvals, and make it easier to build, grow, and stay right here in New Milford.
β One-stop online portal for all permits
β 5-day response rule for business approvals
β Buy Local New Milford initiative to boost foot traffic
β Gradual tax phase-ins to help businesses grow
β Small Business Advisory Council for real community feedback
Write-ins win. CT law says so. 22K+ silent votes = a landslide if they speak.
None. Iβm pro-New Milford. Period.
No. The town is the common sense β neighbors who care, work hard, and love this place enough to get involved.
I listen first, act fast, and lead with transparency. Politics divides β common sense brings people together.
When youβre in the know, your thoughts and ideas hit the mark. With B.S., unknowing just piles on more B.S.
top bleeding millions on lawsuits and waste. Reallocate. Simple math.
I wonβt β because we all want the same thing: to make New Milford stronger, fairer, and a place weβre proud to call home.
If I lose, we all lose. Winning isnβt about ego β itβs about answering a calling we all share.
For eight long years, Pete Bass has run New Milford with CYA politics and empty slogans. The results speak for themselves:
βSince I was silenced, I challenged Mayor Pete Bass and Robyn Mann to an open debate the week of October 27, 2025 β and I got crickets.β
Both candidates avoided real substance. Pete Bass blamed a $7.69M verdict on βwhat happened before him,β yet took no action to prevent future liabilities. That case fell under his watch and cost the town dearly, even straining our school budget.
This shows ongoing financial and reputational risks for New Milford. Decades later, weβre still paying for mismanagement. Accountability, transparency, and fairness must be our priorities. Bass may not have caused the problem β but he failed to lead through it.

βSo I took it straight to the people through these videos, injecting my perspective and responses directly after the debate.β β Carmine Amelio
